Robins’ Retreat, formally known as Little Granville, is situated within the grounds of Ford Farm House in Whitwell on the Isle of Wight. It enjoys views across the beautiful countryside and is within a 10-minute drive of the sandy beaches of Shanklin, Steephill Cove and Ventnor. It is a wonderful walking and cycling area with footpaths and bridleways leading from close to the cottage to nearby downs and there is a renowned walk which follows the course of the nearby River Yar from its source at Niton to the sea at Bembridge via Godshill and Alverstone. A perfect retreat for couples wishing to escape to the countryside to relax and unwind.
The nearby village of Whitwell has the White Horse Inn, for meals, and within a few minutes drive, there is also the village of Niton, where there is an excellent general store, pubs, pharmacy and a beautiful church. The thatched village of Godshill lies about two miles north of the cottage and has two public houses and a restaurant. There are a number of popular supermarkets within a 15-25 minutes’ drive with most providing home delivery^.
Robins’ Retreat has been renovated to provide very attractive and comfortable accommodation for two people in one bedroom. It has been furnished and equipped to a very high 4-star standard and is centrally heated and double glazed. There is an open plan living area with a fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and gas hob, dishwasher and refrigerator with icebox; a pleasant dining area; a lovely sitting room area with armchairs, and a television with Freeview. Double patio doors open from here on to a pretty decked area with a table and chairs so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine whilst enjoying the views. There is a separate bedroom with a super king-size bed, fitted wardrobe and dressing table, and a lovely en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower, basin and w.c. Heating, electricity and water are provided without extra charge. A freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer are also available for visitors’ use, these are located in a separate outbuilding away from the property meaning you can do your laundry without appliances running within the cottage.
Robins’ Retreat is available for weekly holiday bookings with change-over day on a Friday.
The cottage is very popular for multiple weeks stays with holidays being booked a year in advance on many occasions.
Short break, weekend and midweek self-catering holidays are available during low season periods. We also have long-term lets available during the winter months. Please enquire for more details.

*Please note that due to being in the countryside, our Wi-Fi is currently not on a fibre broadband network so speeds may not be as fast as you are used to. However, in 2021 we invested in a 4G router meaning you should receive download speeds of around 20-30Mbps. Please bear this in mind when you are booking to avoid disappointment. The owner will not be held accountable for any connectivity issues
